Greymont is a suburb of Johannesburg, South-Africa. Greymon t is located quite close to both the University of Johannesburg as well as the University of Witwatersrand, which means it has a rather large number of students living is this area.
Greymon t is a suburb 9 km from the centre, laid out in 1903. At first part of the Roodepoort-Marraisburg administration, then in 1917 run by a health committee and in 1939 incorporated into Johannesburg. The name romantically, revolves around the friendship and marriage between one of the Alberts' (from the original Alberts' Farm) brothers to a Miss Grey, hence the township " Greymont ".
